The transmedia production is a trend whose application has been popularized at the area of entertainment. Soap-operas, movies, series and many other media products has put into practice models which pervades the utilization of a traditional media and utilizes many other media to tell a story, promote engagement and inovate.
In journalism, although there are studies and discussions, the transmedia applications are still rare and experimental. We idealized #MidiaTrans to break this barrier definitely, proving that it is possible to build a participatory journalism from multiple platforms.
The #MidiaTrans' journalism isn't factual and immediate. It's a reflexive and collective journalism build upon a kind of “technophagy”, feeding itself with various technologies, many times changing its logics, to reach the new. All media we use have the same importance and don't serve as spaces of repetition of the same content. So, transit between them!
As we publish our productions, we hope to lead the public into an experience that surpasses the information, but provide reflections and evoke even feelings. Our narratives are open and you can help write them. So, overflow and let us know what you think, feel or question about the themes we are discussing.
#MidiaTrans is not a media, but a movement that aims to engage the public to effective a production of a transmedia journalism, with the focus turned to the debate and the humanization of the themes. Come on, transcend with us!
The name #MidiaTrans* represents well our spirit. The prefix “trans” means go beyond, transgress and, preceded by “mídia” (media), reinforces our journalistic character. Lastly, #MídiaTrans is an inversion of the model that guides us, the transmedia, and the hashtag evidences its sharing, engaging and collaborative character.
The #MidiaTrans is an experimental project developed in the Journalism course of Federal University of Uberlândia, by the students Ana Clara Macedo, Brunner Macedo and Marcos Reis, under guidance of Prof. Gerson de Sousa and Prof. Mirna Tonus. Know more about us at: Flipped out over Transmedia.
